About THE MUD GRIDS
Here is a photo of the mud grid system working in very thick soupy clay. As you can see on both sides of the grids you can see the thickness of the mud on each sides. This gelding has all four shoes on, so we recommend topping with sand as shown to provide extra traction to avoid slippage.
