Our Mission

Michigan Mud Control aims to provide affordable mud control grid systems for livestock that help improve safety by providing stable footing and elevating animals above the mud. These grids create a solid surface for livestock, reducing the risk of slipping or becoming trapped in soft, muddy ground, ensuring a safer and more comfortable environment. Additionally, our products help minimize disease and parasite risks, enhancing animal welfare, productivity, and farm cleanliness. We are also committed to environmental sustainability, using 100% recycled plastic in our products.

Our History

Michigan Mud Control was established in 2023 by owner Sarah Roch. Sarah’s journey in the horse industry began in 2015 when she purchased her first Tennessee Walker, named Champ. Since that time, she has actively engaged with various resources to deepen her understanding of horses and their care. Her interest grew in “Horse Track Systems” and how they are utilized in the United Kingdom for horse management. During her research, she discovered Mud Control Grids, which are highly recommended in the UK. Inspired by her knowledge of these grids, Sarah reached out to Hahn Plastic Canada to become a trusted local distributor for Michigan. This experience fueled her passion for educating livestock owners who face mud challenges each year. Thus, Michigan Mud Control was founded in 2023, quickly becoming a reliable supplier in the Midwest.

Our Happy Clients

Sarah Faust Doty

"These grids worked even better than I expected. I was able to easily lay them out in the pattern that fit my pasture the best. Ordering was very easy and straight forward. The owner even helped me set up delivery straight to my door. I can not wait to order more!"

Leah Dykstra

"Horse and I are both happy to not be sinking in the mud anymore. Once we got the hang of install, it was very easy and fairly quick. After walking on it twice my horse was fine with it, and definitely choosing to walk on the grids instead of in mud. Michigan Mud Control was great working with, the demo on install when picking up was helpful."

Heather Rutherford

"These mats are amazing!! so simple to install and no expensive prep work! I am so happy I got these and can’t wait to get more. working with Sara Roch was a total pleasure!"

Mike Connelly

"Picked up 50 grids to try around hay hut, they were such a benefit to me and the horses, so I went back and did balance of a pallet."

Carol Rinna Lambert

"The mud grids are a solution to my mud problem, I fight it every year. I’ve spent so much money on sand, excavating, drainage systems, rock, pavers, and this is the first thing that actually works. I’m going to buy more as soon as I can, finally something that worked!"

Kathie Valeri Carroll

"I love my mud grids! I bought some a couple years ago and just recently purchased a few more to touch up my muddy area! I am amazed these don’t shift or sink, but whoever thought of them – hats off. Thank you Sarah Roch of Tucker Ranch who I was able to purchase more locally!"

No, you can order as many or as few grids as you’d like. You can always add onto them over time.

Do you need to prep the surface before installing?
